Our Junior Leader Academy Team

Here at Swindon Martial Arts & Fitness we are proud to offer the first stages of instructor training through the national Junior Leadership Academy programme. We provide a structured training programme, designed for 11 – 17 year old’s, that enhances our team’s professional development through a programme of formal training and leadership development. Upon successful completion of the programme, JLA trainees will graduate to become part of our Junior Leadership team, with the potential to progress onto further instructor training if suitable.

JLA is a 6 Month programme during which you will work alongside our Instructors and Junior Coaches attend monthly training sessions and complete a workbook.  During the first 6 months, you will develop your skills in leadership, confidence and communication plus much more.  At the end of 6 months, providing you have reached the required standard, you will graduate to become a full member of our JLA and we will provide you with a JLA uniform to wear.

Our junior support team is a highly valued and important part of our structure. JLA members will provide support to our Instructors and Junior Coaches in classes and at gradings and become role models for other students.  We expect our JLA trainees and graduates to demonstrate a continued commitment to our club, have high standards of attitude and character, and wear their uniform with pride.

It was great to welcome other clubs along for a friendly sparring day, we got to learn and try new techniques in a combative style but in a controlled environment, everyone showed great commitment and had fun. Thanks to Kenbu Gloucester and BMMA Chippenham for coming and joining in.
